Two hours of driving yesterday with the entire Bruce Cockburn (pronounced "co-burn" ye perves) collection. Astounding Canadian artist.

Absolute addicted to The Rumour Said Fire. I'm starting to like the other 5 songs more than The Balcony (the one I posted in the music promise thread). The other songs have a different sound to them, I think. The lucky ones of you who can use Spotify should check them out, if they're on there, especially 'Evil Son' and 'Dance'.

I've recently become quite smitten with Florence + The Machine.
Doves' Kingdom of Rust has had a lot of play around here lately too.

any good? so much hype, so little time. It's great; kind of a cross between "All Cats Are Grey" by The Cure and Joy Division.

agreed Ange, though I do love Wincing the Night Away slightly more.
I keep trying to branch out but lately keep going back to anything by The National (since the concert I can't get them out of my head) and The Suburbs by Arcade Fire.

I had a few listens to The Suburbs and I don't know if I like it. It's not that it's different or anything I'm just not sure if it's really my cuppa. Generally I like it when bands go out and do something completely different and mix it up a bit but I just don't really get it.

put it on repeat like 10 times and then BLAMMO. There it is. I actually gave up on it when I got it too, but Dennis kept playing it in his office like everyday until it hit me how much I liked it. But just skip month of may. it's a travesty.

Yeah I hate Month of May. HATE it. But the rest of the album is really quite good, I think. Like the others better, though...

I think Suburbs is amazing. I love love love it. I don't think it took too much time either for me, I think everything they have done so far has been brilliant. Can't wait to see them in December.

Deb, I listened to the Courteneers. I like it but I think I may need a few more listens.

I like the new one from Jodh Ritter. I listened to it on my long flight to LA. I also listened to Atlas Genius, very good, the Lumoneers, good, and the new David Bowie. Also good. But I played the new Josh one twice.

I'm 'previewing' the Ellie Goulding album on iTunes as we speak. Every time I hear her songs on tv trailers I'm drawn to them. Not sure if I want to buy a whole album though.

I quite liked that 'explosions' one when it came out, but several listens later I was bored of it. I still can't get past that fucking awful pointless Elton John cover she did.
Still not heard the new Ritter! Must get it downloaded...

Still not heard the new Ritter! Must get it downloaded... Paloma Faith's dire cover of INXS has alienated me in a similar way, as I quite like her earlier output.
