Personally, I thought the whole final thing looked rigged in the girls favour. Judges just kept issuing the same comment to them about them being 'amazing' and then banging on about phoning in for them. The blonde one can sing, the one with attitude can sing a little, but the other two look completely out of their depth. Don't think that much to Marcus to be fair, but he was a damn sight better than the group.

Brilliant. Who on earth decided on that song? It's not a pop song. It's not even a good song, Rice got away with it with that whole sulky sparse thing he does but souped up it just sounds shit dull. Awful, awful choice and that bit where it cranks up with the key change is just cringingly embarrassing. Both acts versions were equally as shit.
Although that's nothing compared to what Leona Lewis did to 'Hurt'. I can't remember the last time a song made me so angry. I've decided I've watched my last series of X Factor. This year I sat through most of it but by the time it ended I realised about 1% of that was spent mildly entertained, 79% was I was bored and the other 20% was wild, unadulterated raging anger.

I have to agree with everything you said, katy.

I mean - it's Christmas for God's sake! Cannonball??
The only thing that impressed me was they all managed to get through the lyrics without cracking up. I still maintain "Courage teach me to be shy" is one of the shittest lines in music history.

I was texting Debbie at the time and said that I'd never 'got' the lyrics to Cannonball. They're basically just babble.

Recorded it then whizzed through it, felt pretty much nothing for anybody and felt completely underwhelmed.
Cannonball is an appalling choice of song. Not that strong a song to begin with as both of you have said and "stooooooooooooones taught me to flyyyyyyahiiihiiiihiiiiiiiiiiiiii" is quite laughable to listen to. You can tell they've been taken into a room and told to really lay the emotion on but it's not a strong enough song to withstand all the octave trilling.
Bit relieved its all over....

Forgot about the Leona Lewis thing. I thought they had forgotten to turn her mic on for a minute at the start....
