is it wrong to have 'secret heart' on repeat for 2 days, much to the distress of my housemates. is her most recent album any good?

I used to really like Broken Social Scene, haven't listened to them for a wee while though. It was you who mentioned liking Cat Power marg, yes? If so, she has a new one out this month 'jukebox', an album mostly made up of covers, there's a new song, and another version of metal heart, just incase you didn't know. If not, just pretend i wrote nothing bar the first sentence, ta.
Soph, glad you bought it, it is rather good. There are a good few songs on that album i like. Like a few on her others aswell though.

yup, that'd be right ange. ta for that. was lucky to see both cat power and bss recently. her covers are brilliant and they've a consistently tight operation, including kevin drew's slightly obscured vocal on spirit if. ye donnae agree i take it?

The difference for me with Cat Powers covers and many others who try and fail, is that she makes them her own, yet not uncomfortably. She not afraid of choosing covers most would shy away from, but then why would she be, when in my opinion she could take any song and make you fall in love with it again, for different reasons. There's not many who have the capabilities to do that, especially to the scale she has. Now Kevin Drew's 'Spirit if', vocally he's never been as strong as his Broken Social Scene mates, but it's an album that deserves as much credit and praise as any album Broken Social Scene put out there, in my opinion. Though since the members of Broken Social Scene all appear in it, it was always bound to be a good effort.
Am looking forward to the next in the series, Brendan Canning's, should be good.
