not until now. w'd'ya think yerself. the raw materials are there, well most of them. and i'm afraid i can't take the name fionn seriously since the weekend. my friend has been going nuts on-line dating. i had to hear all about 'fionn the poet' who she was lining up to meet. all i was getting was a watered down celtic warrior in off-white floating shirts trying to fight off a yorkshire terrier chomping at his ankles while maintaining a cool look. pity the phone that should burst this poetic image 'hello, you're through to fintan's voicemail, please leave a message.....'.

I think he sounds a wee bit ernest and 'worthy' but hey, I might be jaded. Anyone who slips 'iconoclast' into a song ...
I like the way he uses his voice, though. I might reserve judgement until I see him play live.

"Fionn Ó Lochlainn is a songwriter, recording artist and instrumentalist who is primarily motivated by the elevation of consciousness, the application of humanity and the pursuit of truth."
Aye. Right enough. Nice not knowing ya, Fionn....

i'm movitated by the dereliction of consciousness, the application of surreality, and the pursuit of the unbelievable truth. in order words, i like a decent dream now and again.

Like it. Fionn, ye've just lost that third preference vote I promised ye, pal. I've come across a marginally better manifesto to put to the testo.

he's my friend. he is very earnest, yes totally but he is sincere. and so nice.
i first met him about 4 years ago because he was playing in that small but really cool venue i am always in (rockwood music hall). but he was calling himself solarface. well i had no idea who he was but boy was he fantastic. he reminded me of a young david bowie. and i love the way he plays piano or guitar or mandolin. so i tell a lot of peeps about him and i manage to drag 5 people with me the next time he played. turned out most of them knew him personally - they just didn't know that name solarface! it was funny actually. he used to be married to someone in riverdance and my friend colin worked for riverdance for 10 years so when we got there he said oh yes i know him!; and i brought brendan o'shea and brendan sees him and goes oh i've known fionn for years now. etc.
my friends said he was more like a young jimmy page though. oh and his father used to be in jethro tull. and fionn always has cool artwork on his page. not sure who makes that for him. his dad used to also design the album covers for jethro tull.
we were just messaging back and forth on myspace 3 days ago, he hadn't seen me around for a while and wondered where i was.

You almost had me regretting my rush to judgement on your friend, Karen.....that is until you mentioned "solarface"....
Only messin' - I haven't even listened to his stuff yet, so admittedly I'm being entirely prejudicial

Jesus, don't get too close to the screen there, lads. Ye'll cut yourself on his chin....or even his cheekbones.
