that was close, just heard they're playing galway in july *mops brow after speed dash to ticketmaster.
ange, see they've a few dates slotted in for glasgow. expect they'll be wheeling out a few new ones from hibernation. heard a few in paul buchanan's solo set a few years back. 'start again' is only gorgeous.

Aye, i just nipped onto Facebook for the first time in ages, and noticed i had a message about the dates in Glasgow, from a group i had joined. Was thinking i must nip on here and tell Marg they're doing some dates, and i found this. Anyway i'll definitely be going along. You should have given the Galway gig a miss Marg, and dragged your bum over here.

not a bad idea, considering the sound will be shit in galway, but i would never get it together. it's all about venue with them innit. and of course there'd be the opportunity to call round to paul buchanan's gaff, bring him up a cuppa tea as he sits hunched over the study table in office, scribbling down the pain from another solitary night in to his little notebook, a tea-stained hardback poetry book upturned on the page with yeats on the sideboard, the stains included in the price of £10 he paid in the second hand book shop he likes to drape himself around on thursdays. the crackling of the needle on the vinyl in the corner that he absent mindedly forgets to lift at the end of that tom waits' album filling the silence. resisting my battle to seduce him in to a waltz *sinks further into reverie*

Aww, that's a shame marg, you really should get it together. Though i'm not really liking the venue they're playing at here. The sound quality should be good, but it's seated, and most of the good seats are already gone, for all three dates. I'll still be going along though, i'd just prefer they chose another venue. Bloody Scottish, we're never happy.

there'd be a certain poignancy from tumbling out of the home gig to strut the streets of his lovehood..the neons, cigarettes, rented rooms, rented cars, crowded streets, empty bar, chimney tops, trumpets, golden lights, loving prayers, coloured shoes etc.

Aye, i strut (though it's more of a fumbling stagger) those very streets a fair bit generally. Have also been known to stumble drunkenly through them too...though not as much, honest. I wouldn't mind finding myself part of a similar scene to the one you described earlier though.

his own description. here's an interview i found. the interviewer lost the run of himself, evidently. note bizarre comments on phil collins. a sign of buchanan's grace that he restrained himself from throttling him there and then. www.youtube.com/watch?v=1rLnn_fNCJQ
