The best bit was the 'From Spain to Dublin' mention..
Tickets are going to be like gold bleedin' dust for that gig. And probably about €150 - 200, to boot.
Fuck it thought, he's a cool fucker.

amy, what did i tell you about thinking? steady yourself.
tickets'll be going for the cost of a vital organ, which is why if i ruled the world (my promotion can't come quick enough), buyers would have to pass my lie detector prove you're a fan test.

Clever stuff. So, did he really have a press conference and through clever editing make out as if it was all just on a record at the end or did he actually stick all that on a piece of vinyl and play along with it? Has to be the former, eh? All sounded very spontaneous. Or he's very clever and rehearsed it like bejaysus.
Probably not meant to analyse these things but that's me....

Apparently it's going to be a specially-constructed marquee, not the one they usually use. I'd imagine it'd have to be a fully-seated one.
I fuckin' would have killed to see him in Vicar Street or the National Concert Hall. Sigh.

i'd kill to see him in the backroom down my old local, draped over the piano and enveloped in smoke, with the chatter and the clatter and the camaraderie ricocheting off his cadillactic frame. down where folk break on through to the other side. knowwhatamsayin' *runs finger along piano keys*

all I could find online, marg.
Tom Waits’ Dublin gigs confirmed? Wednesday, May 7th, 2008
I’ve been following news on Tom Waits’ return to Ireland like a hawk and between a few friends we’ve all been keeping each other up to date on the latest rumours.
Today Hot Press have said that Waits will play two nights at a Marquee at the Phoenix Park; July 30th and 31st. No sign of when tickets will go on sale or how much they’ll cost (my bet is it’ll be around the €80 mark) but you can count me in.
No word of the dates on the Aiken website or Ticketmaster.ie yet, but fingers crossed this rumour turns out to be true.
Maybe July 31st should mark the official launch of the second ‘Waits for Christmas‘ campaign, too!
