last night's insomnia spent trying to remember a song jens lekman played on sunday. introduced as a cover of a tune by arthur russell. doesn't surprise me to learn the boy arthur was mates with jonathan richman and david byrne. lekman shares a similar love of the absurd. his songs float on high o'er strings and wit and sadness chomping at the bit. the result is some nifty hot-wiring of your brain that gets the senses working overtime to the beat of involuntary smiles. arthur was in less of a disco mood the day he inked this one. 'i'm so busy thinking about kissing you'. a task requiring a fair whack of concentration in fairness. www.youtube.com/watch?v=1C2jTrC4ezI&feature=related

I had an odd thing with Jens Lekman a while back, where I kept seeing his name and knew I'd heard of him somewhere, but I never remembered where, and there's nothing familiar about him at all as it turns out. Y'can hear the David Byrne influence, yep. Didn't expect that. Sweet song.

adorable is the word. such was the exhiliration, the bolted door on my toff tourettes syndrome sprung open with embarrassing consequences. there was definitely a terrific in there, two divines and other unutterable offending terms. he was just that good.
