Well, if the universe jumps to my attention then I may be seeing Bell X1 open for Stars in September. Does anyone know if they play a full set when they are the opening act? Oh, and I definately plan on seeing Pinback in October, looking forward to that as well.

Who are Stars?? Are they better known than Bell X1? *feel like I've missed something*
the Bellies are headlining here in Boston. We ordered our tickets a week or so after they went on sale and still got tix number 17 - 19, so they're not selling very quickly. Though the venue is in the middle of an urban college campus, and the gig's in September, so I'm guessing most of the audience is on summer vacation and not planning their September nightlife just yet.

Stars remind me a bit of New Pornographers. I somewhat like them, but for me I'd be going for the bellies. Don't know if I'll stay for Stars or not (if it even works out that I can go... three kids, a show the same night I work, 2+ hour drive to a different city, travelling husband... you can see how the odds tend to pile up against me!!!) Here's a couple tracks, if this works! 01 The Night Starts Here.mp301 Ageless Beauty.mp3

yeah, it works. good woman. didn't seem half bad from what i heard on the wireless but grim gig reviews have been piling up from mates. got to hear for meself when she filled in for feist at a recent broken social scene gig. was forced to send my post-it entreaty by express hand-passing to the stage. dear you, i'd do a better job using stephen hawking's voice box without the batteries whilst extreme ironing on rollerblades down the side of cliff. let's swap. me xx

Oh, and I definately plan on seeing Pinback in October, looking forward to that as well. I've seen em supporting a few bands and it depends really. Sometimes they'll do a support slot with just Paul and Dave as an acoustic duet which isn't really as impressive as the full band. It should tell you in the listings I spose.

Yeah, I've only got one of his compilations, Karen, but it's got all his stuff with Spencer Davis Group, Traffic and Blind Faith. All quality and I'd imagine he'd put on a good show. Most of those older guys do.

Wow, you got up fairly close, Sheila. Surely a breach of that non-molestation order Thom got against you that time? Ah well, you musta had a good disguise....
Good gig, I take it?

Michael it was brilliant. My review's on my last.fm, and some more pics on my fb. Marg the pic's a bit misleading, the stage was pretty massive actually. Plenty of room for him to bust some seriously moves and he did... oh yes. Sean that is bloody brilliant!! I can't imagine how chuffed you must've been. I made Dennis come over and look too and he says he can't believe how much you look the younger version of himself Mr. Loaf.

Right, to answer you all, No, Katy, I've never been blond, even though perhaps some of my posts might suggest otherwise Michael, the guy is a legend, completely charming and hilarious. Karen, it was my second time meeting him, the first was at a signing in London's Virgin Megastore a few years back. And no, I wasn't trying to lick him, when I met him I oustretched my arms and said 'Daddy!' so we were laughing. Here's a snap in which I don't look quite so mental: Sheila and Sara, thanks, it was a great experience. I also met the rest of the band, and had photos with the ones I hadn't already nabbed at other gigs. They're a great bunch of guys and gals, and they all agree how much I resemble a younger Meat, and looking at the photos, it would appear that they, and you, are quite correct
