tenner says the first thing to come in to your head was 'my name is luka'. i hate that song. not just because it's mediocre but because it made the battle to convince people to listen to her other stuff a formidable chore. her eponymous debut's been clinging on to my top ten since the year of its release. not bad, but then i often stand-back and admire my own taste as i carees my cheek at the wonder of it. here's an interesting article she's written. she's a regular contributer to the ny times. it's about songs, meaning, marketing, the craft of song-writing, and an insight to another dimension of a pretty interesting woman. measureformeasure.blogs.nytimes.com/2008/06/18/surviving-the-hits/index.html

Oh, absolutely! Shows for me are always half as much about the banter and anecdotes as they are about the performances themselves. She's a relaxed talker, and never too much to make the audience get squirmy and restless. Hmmm... toddling off to my CD cabinet as I type this.
