ok, my digital camera died. Suggestions?
nothing too complicated or big but want to take good, crisp pics without switching lenses, etc. Budget, up to $500 bucks.

Amazingly, almost all the mainstream point-and-click cameras are pretty fantastic now, either the Nikon CoolPix line, the Canon PowerShot, the Panasonic Lumix or Sony CyberShot. I've had good luck personal with the Canons and Sonys for small cameras.

Gt a canon powershot 1000 or something like that. Basically an update on my old one. I had several people recommend that one but was holding off because I wasn't sure if I wanted another canon. But if it ain't broke don't fix it...

I've got one of those Nikon coolpix ones, and the picture quality is brilliant... outdoors. Indoor pictures tend to look weird. Also, it just deleted my holiday pictures from the SD card. So I'm not recommending that one :/
