Ta monkeys.
Well! Could I be happier? 2-0 I thought that was it but I have to say I got a real feel even after the first goal was scored that Arsenal would come back in some shape or form. Thought it might be Nasri but wow Theo Walcott you legend!
what reeeeeallly fuckin annoys me is that I was listening to the Bayern v. Man U game last night on the radio and the commentators were salivating over the Man U team, could not say a word wrong about them. When Bayern scored the second goal (commentators still in denial about the first) I leapt off my chair.
Tonightthey were all about Barca. OK we were played off the pitch in the first half but bloody hell. A bit of positivity would've been nice!
I don't think I sat down all night. You know its bad when you're talking to the players through the screen (sorry Vermaelen).
But people just write Arsenal off all the time. ALL the time. Annoys me.

Awwww Deb. I always thought you might have a little Gooner inkling no?
My dad is gas. He rings me before all the big European matches and I get texts before the premier league ones. Am convinced he is a closet Gooner!

Sounds like it....I'm a rubbish football fan I used to like Newcastle when Keegan was in charge and Les Ferdinand and Asprilla, Ginola etc. were playing. But I have a soft spot for Lverpool as well. I know, total girl
I want to go to bed but I painted my toenails and I don't want them to smudge. That is SO nothing to do with football. Feet though.

Kez, you have a chance in the second leg next week after clawing your way back into it. A small chance, but a chance just the same.

i have recovered from the match but just about.
we've more than a small chance dave. arsenal are always a threat goign forward and barca are going to be missing theur two best defenders (puyol is shite anyway but still one of their best). theo, nasri, diaby, song, arsh (if fit, eboue if not) to start in camp nou as a 5 man midfield. campbell should be rested on saturday to be ready for tuesday. my nerves are already tingling about this one i swear...

Theo was amazing. He absolutely turned it around. Sounds obvious but I think they were looking for that bit of magic they really needed a bit of individual skill and determination and wow did he do that. The pace of him!
Messi was well quiet considering all the hype.
I think macca's right. There's no reason why we can't give it a go in the Nou Camp. No reason at all. We'd wanna keep a bit more of an eye on Ibrahimovic though...

Argh! I have no one to go and watch the match with me tonight Options are: Flatmate - last time I took her to watch an Arsenal game she made loud jokes about what colour were Arsenal playing in and about not understanding the offside rule. Repeatedly. Until I had to leave. Two female friends I have, one of whom talked all the way through the match the last time we went to watch it and the other one who insisted on going to a pub in the city which was full of wanker city types who made the most violent misogynist jokes I've ever heard in my life to the point where we told him to fuck off and left. 19 year old bloke at work who I don't know very well but who I always talk to about all things Arsenal and who I don't know very well and do not want to ask for fear of being pegged as the office cradle snatcher. My rather troubled Arsenal friend with whom I'm in the weird territory of sort of friends but haven't actually met up as friends yet. See now if I was a bloke I could just rock up to a bar and stand there on my own and all would be nice and acceptable

See now if I was a bloke I could just rock up to a bar and stand there on my own and all would be nice and acceptable mysognist go to an arsenal bar and no one will even notice you're on yer tod, you'll be arm in arm with strangers singing "oh arsenal we love you" in minutes! ill be watching at home, chewing whats left of me fingernails off. first goal to arsenal or i think its all over. 1-0 arsenal would do it and i dont care what anyone says 1-0 can be the scoreline in any game, anytime, anywhere...i think this game is as big, maybe bigger, than the final 4 years ago. ive never been as on edge going into a game. lets wait and see....

*wipes tears from eyes* that was a better speech than "I have a dream..." macca ;D
You're right though. One nil will do it, Wolves stylee last minute header from Bendtner. I'll take that. Or a wonder Walcott goal in the dying seconds. Why not.

OK really seriously considering going on my own but feel like a twat. Have emailed friends and surprise surprise no response.
I have to see it even if we lose miserably.

nope its completley allowed for sporting reasons!
the starting 11 is gonna look odd tonight considering how big a game it is but injuries dictate it and i reckon it'll be
almunia clichy vermaelan campbell walcott nasri diaby denilson eboue bendtner
campbell is a slight doubt so silvestre might slot in instead
rosicky and eduardo on the bench to bring on if things arent going our way and create something, not that either of them have done much in that regard lately. i wish we'd kept wilshire around. i think he'd trive in a game like this one.

That is an odd looking line up. Clichy isn't great although he hasn't been too woeful lately. It could be down to a bit of Walcott or Nasri genius. If not they should just boot it up to Bendtner lol.

That second goal was phenomenal. Actually they all were. Just laughing at Silvestre and Clichy's faces after. The most wtf expressions I've ever seen. The Bendtner goal though was just a great moment really. For a moment everyone thought maybe we could clinch it. Actually for about 2 minutes. Until Messi tore us apart. Repeatedly. news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/europe/8606391.stmWhat dyou reckon the caption would be for this? Messi saying to Vermaelen, "here you can have the ball back now".

My brother sent me the link to Andrey Arshavin's web site a while back and I thought it was a spoof but I think it is actually real! He answers questions every week I think. A link to it here. Hilarious! www.arshavin.eu/en/news.php?id=528

Well I have to say listen to an Arsenal v. any team in the world and feckin Man U v. any team in the world and the difference in the commentary is staggering. Last night it was "yes well Man U won't give in now they've got their second goal, could it be a washout!!! Bayern are in trouble, etc etc" with Arsenal it's all "Well Jim I can't really see Arsenal coming back from this..." blah blah. So fuck em. I'm glad they got beat too. They're far too cocky. Bloody Nani and his backflip. Who needs backflips when you have Bendtner's chewing gum goal celebration
