What's everyone up to? Not much for me obviously, will take Ava to ballet and to the library tomorrow and that's about it. On Sunday we will hopefully be celebrating Arsenal's first piece of silverware in 6 years. Other than that nothing for me I need to live vicariously through others please...

haha, you and me both, deb.
we've got a huge snowstorm raging outside (AGAIN), once i get some motivation, i'll post a pic. unbelievable. tonight we were planning on attending the local basketball ball game at the high school but school was cancelled, so i think that means all extra curriculars are also. boo. we'll go out for a bite and probably go out to the movies, it's joes turn to pick, think he wants to see some midcentury historical thing. can't remember what it's called... we don't let a little snow stop us, i've got 4 wheel drive.
tomorrow, i gotta work out, didn't go today. i'm fighting this cold and will probably head up for a nap in a moment, took too much cold medicine. hopefully attending the rescheduled bball game. watching the rest of the our mad men dvds, good stuff. pat got me john adams for my bday, so i've got that too.
sunday, making a leg of lamb, house stuff. rock and roll.....zzzz.......
finishing up keith richards autobio - talk about living vicariously! jesus, i guess i was aware at the time what a train wreck his life was, but great read!

Mkk is the movie called the eagle? I saw it, it was pretty good. I liked it because I have been to hadrians wall. I am going to a "gig" tonight ... A local Celtic band called the border collies is playing. They sound like Altan on their myspace page. My first gig since the stroke! My mom is going too, so it won't be too wild a night. Earlier this week a friend of mine,Trevor Exter, was in town for a gig but I could not go because my mom was too afraid to drive to it in downtown Atlanta. and my sister sue was away on a trip.

Nothing exciting going on here this weekend. I FINALLY got my hair done today. Got some color in it as well as a really nice cut. It's been so long since I've done anything to it - I feel so pampered!
Saturday I have to work all day. The store is so incredibly depressing now. It kills me to walk through the doors. I'm sure I'll get used to it eventually, but as of now I can't wrap my head around the concept of completely trashing a store because it is going out of business. (And for only 20% off everything.) Do you really have to throw 50 books on the floor and kick them and step on them? Really?
*deep breath*
Sunday is our relaxing family day. It's going to be a rainy weekend, so we'll just stay in and watch movies and cook. (We've turned into quite the cooking family.) Samantha has a birthday party to attend Sunday late afternoon, though I hope it's not raining too hard. The party is inside, but I still hate driving there - Los Angeles drivers see one raindrop and forget how to drive.
Hope everyone has a great weekend!

learning to operate my new washer and dryer, oh the excitement. It's snowing now and there's supposedly another 4 inches on the way this weekend, so I'll get some provisions in tomorrow so I can hibernate the rest of the time!
Heather, we stopped into our local Borders last weekend to lend some support, even though it's not one of the closing stores. I bought 3 books (The Help, Why Not Say What Happened, and The Weird Sisters) and calculated that I could have saved $10 on EACH ONE had I ordered from Amazon. Sad to say this, because I love to spend hours browsing in a bookstore, but I think I see where the issue is... I don't know how Amazon can make money with those prices and free shipping, but they certainly offer value.

Where is the excitement people? LOL. Maybe I'll order the Keith Richard's book as well... Last night I think TC and I exchanged about 100 texts between us watching idol, I had a wretched sleep and then Ava crawled in with me at 7am. I'll be naping later for sure.

Well my Sunday will be the same is debyvr's. Just about to head off out to ze pub to sing along with me fellow Gooners.
Yesterday me and the fella went shopping for furniture. No one told me it would be this complicated!!! I fell in love with a little armchair that spun round and I ended up curled up on it spinning round and the salesman passed me and said "well you look very comfortable!!". Quite funny. All the sofas in DFS were pretty much ick apart from the spinny chair.
We did however decide on a bed and on wardrobes and that. In IKEA tensions arose as we didn't agree on shelves or coffee tables for the living room but by the time we had reached the kitchen section we were reunited on an oak kitchen table. Let me rephrase that, we both agreed we LIKED the oak kitchen table.
We were fookin knackered after that and we can't even buy anything yet cos the flat isn't ready!!! Got measurements and ideas though so that's something.
Loved Keith Richards' biog, it is very much written with his voice and his viewpoint and he is quite frank about his relationships. You always think you know all the history the drugs the women etc etc but he is very unapologetic about his life and what he's done and why should he be. Sounds like he had a fuckin riot ;D

Wow kez, you and the bloke must be pretty serious ... Furniture shopping and all!
I am going to see True Grit at 2:15 today. The gig I went to was fun, although I felt a little car sick on the way there and it took me a few minutes to get over that feeling. The group sounded like Altan, I guess. The venue was like a corporate meeting room, not charming at all. But it was fun anyway.

I'm going shopping with my sister in law, while the men entertain our kids. Ha. Chinese buffet afterwards, hopefully. The closest Chinese place has only one review online, which describes customers calling the police because the staff were threatening them after they complained about the food. Maybe not then.

yikes Karo! Let us know how that one goes! I am doing nothing. Lorenzo is very sick, has been in bed for almost 48 hours now. I am a little bit worried actually. We will be hanging out here at the house for that reason. I am going to try and get out and take a walk though.

I hope Lorenzo gets better Courtney I had a crap sleep last night so was happy to stay at home as Ben has taken Ava to Toys R Us to buy her a "big sister" toy. I'm watching cooking shows and soon will try to take a nap. Ben's running a half marathon tomorrow up near Silverstone so I'll be at home with Ava all day, hopefully again doing very little at all. Next week is my last full week at work YIPPEE!

Leon's been sent to Cardiff this weekend. Next weekend he's off to Sheffield. He's only just returned from a week in Ireland, for god's sake. I am well over being alone in the house with Max 24/7.

Eat Pray Love. Hmm, the only things I took away from it was that Julia looks great for over 40 and I want to live in Bali.
Will attempt to watch Remember Me before Max wakes up again.

I hope you got to watch your movie K. Edo is like that, such a change from Ludi who could play for hours on his own. Very stressful week here is fianally over and everything is fin, thank goodness. Lorenzo woke up briefly on Friday morning and said he had a sore throat and was tired and was not going to go to work. So I left him to sleep, went to gym for my 10 appt, then came home fully expecting him to be awake, nope dead asleep. So I left him to sleep and prepared lunch, went in a 1:30 to tell him that lunch was ready and he was still dead asleep and did not want to wake up for lunch. finally at 3:30 he woke up but stayed in bed the remainder of the day. I brought him dinner in bed, etc. He needed my help to get to the bathroom, but he usually does when he is sick so I thought he just had a mild flu or something. Saturday he woke up around 10 and said he wanted to go outside and get some fresh air. great! He seemed to be feeling better. After a while he said he needed to go inside but couldn't. He had to have myself and the man working in the garden assist him up the stairs as he crawled on all fours. He made it to the couch where he remained for the rest of the day. I had to bring him a bottle to urinate in, physically lift his legs and adjust his body to help him sit up, pull his pants down for him. I was terrified. Terrified. I started googling like crazy as did he and we really had a few hours that we thought the GBS was coming back- which is rare, but happens 2-5% of the time. The little bit of hope we had was in that he could still pinch his fingers together, quite forcefully even and he still could speak clearly. By Saturday night he was able to move to the bed with assistance. Today he woke up bright and early, got out of bed and worked outside int he garden all day. I couldn't believe it. Thank god it was nothing. He just suffers terribly whenever he gets even a mild cold or any sickness. It was the worst I have seen him though. He should have rested again today, but he never stops. Especially after something like that he always wants to get out and prove that he is ok. It was so fucking scary though. I just kept thinking about how sad he would be not to play with the children and how confused they would be to see him in bed for months and months.
